Community Shared Linen (CSL) is an opportunity to support a localized small-scale textile industry from seed, to fibre, to final piece. Together we can create the foundation for a sustainable, ethical, thriving agricultural and fibre-arts business that produces dynamic, fun, and accessible linen pieces within 200 km of where the flax is sowed.
The Zero-Waste CSL has been created to make use of scrap material so that nothing goes to waste in the process of creating our larger linen pieces. When garments are cut out of flat material, there are a lot of small pieces left that often get thrown out. We deeply value the work that goes into making our fibres and textiles, so we want to ensure that every bit of linen is made into something wonderful.
We would love your support in this endeavour! By signing up for one of these shares you get a special price on the first offer of limited edition zero-waste items so that no part of the material we use is thrown away. What we make may be anything from coin pouches to funky earrings depending on the size and quantity of the leftover material. You won’t know what they are and neither will we until the scraps are assembled!
These shares will be available throughout 2018.
