20 May Ruth Thoem Weaving in Canning
We are looking forward to hosting Ruth in June. Stop by 9838 Main Street Canning after June 7th to see what Ruth is up to!
“I just love weaving!” For over 25 years I have woven tea towels, scarves, blankets, placemats, rugs, yardage. A secondary love is talking about weaving; the techniques, the structure, the fibres. This time with TapRoot Fibre Lab will be a real treat for me.
In Ontario, where I live, I belong to the Burlington Handweavers & Spinners Guild. Since first taking lessons with Diane Woods and Fran Boisvert I have expanded my knowledge and practice though Guild organized workshops and attendance at MidAtlantic Fiber Assn, Handweavers Guild of America’s Convergence and online workshops.
I weave with many fibres, including locally sourced wool and alpaca. Locally sourced linen is a dream I’ve had, now to be fulfilled. Thank you, TapRoot, for including me.
