The linen rug is made by hand in every step of the process from the planting of the seed to the finished woven rug. Each rug is unique and individual in its design using linen grown and processed by TapRoot. The rug showcases the various natural shades and tones of linen with hints of naturally madder root dyed wool. The warm earthly tones of the rug are perfect for turning any space into a cozy comfortable area.

In the Spring of 2022 I was sorting yarns at the spinning mill and found myself with a large box of yarns that we had been creating since 2018. I called my colleague Jennifer Green at NSCAD. Together with three recent graduates of the weaving program at NSCAD we created three products. The Flax Field Rug, The TapRoot Placemat and The TapRoot Tote.
TapRoot Fibre aspires to work with local artisans to create products that feel and look great, are grown and processed locally, are supporting our community, our culture and cultivate excitement for what is possible.
